Compensation: Base salary: $60,000 – 65,000 DOE, plus Global Press’ full suite of benefits including health/vision/dental (100% covered), matching 401k, unlimited PTO.

The business development associate is a resourceful, media-savvy professional who works to support partnerships and earned revenue opportunities at Global Press News Services (GPNS), the B2B facing entity of Global Press.  

The business development associate works directly with the COO to offer GPNS products and services to select clients, achieve quarterly earned-revenue targets and bolster brand awareness for the exceptional journalism produced by Global Press Journal reporters around the world. The successful candidate will be organized, passionate about the news industry and have previous Salesforce and business development experience, ideally in the media or publishing context. All candidates should have previous experience managing projects and schedules, multitasking and using critical thinking to create productive systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

Research and Strategy

Follow news, business model, product and media B2B trends

Become a subject-matter expert on GPNS products and services and all Global Press processes and operations to ensure crisp external messaging

Manage a robust pipeline of 200 client leads and develop engagement plans with the COO for the top 50 leads

Prepare briefs on all top leads ahead of key meetings and pitches , focusing on points of alignment with product/service stories

Manage editorial logistics, from booking travel to submitting conference applications, fielding technology and travel requests from reporters to processing reimbursements for staff members.

Develop and manage a target events list for the CEO and COO. Events should focus on client outreach opportunities

Lead a media monitoring system for Global Press Journal story placement opportunities in A-list publications across the US and UK, based on timely and relevant content

Prepare briefs on all top leads ahead of key meetings and pitches , focusing on points of alignment with product/service stories

Develop client experience surveys and administer and analyze survey results

Monitor media outlets for news and information on diversity and inclusion services, safety and security programs and US/UK story placement opportunities

Gather quarterly audience metrics to archive for client presentations

Research and present earned revenue opportunities for newsletter advertising

Manage Accurate Processes

Project manage the sale and implementation of over a dozen products and services to ensure a timely and professional experience for all clients

Manage materials, calendaring and set up of all client meetings or convenings

Ensure follow up on all client meetings are immediately sent and a relationship management plan is internally initiated

Manage key GPNS partnerships

Manage and maintain all sections of, continually improve external-facing communications and regularly collect testimonials for the site

Collaborate with the Programs Manager to gather and present local syndication metrics in quarterly presentations on syndication pick up in Global Press Journal bureau locations

Manage all invoices for GPNS and ensure timely payment for product and service delivery

Work closely with the Finance department to code and record all client payments

Keep an impeccable database

Maintain the Salesforce database to include leads, research, and progress updates on all current and potential clients

Manage and run quarterly prospective client reports in Salesforce

Record meeting notes after each client meeting

Respond to all GPNS incoming emails within 24 hours

Ensure all partnership MOUs, client contracts, and other documentation is regularly updated and filed


Interface with clients with exceptional written and oral communication that showcases the values of the organization

Draft client presentations and templates with the Creative Director

Assist with writing and editing proposals, client emails, client updates, project plans and agreements

Expertise in Salesforce, Excel, Mail Merge, PowerPoint

Excellent time and project management skills


The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of prior experience in an office environment with demonstrated experience in database, project and accounts management. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a track record of client and relationship management with use of timelines and metrics. Candidates should have a good understanding of sustainability challenges and innovation in the news media industry. Candidates should expect to exercise discretion and maintain some confidential information.
