Global Press Journal is looking for an inquisitive, enterprising Research Intern to join our growing editorial team.

At Global Press, we believe that insightful context and data are key ingredients to building a better and more informed world. The Research Intern will work directly with the Researcher to build an extensive archive of research materials and to assist with answering the day-to-day research questions.

Duties:

• Collect studies, laws, reports, maps and historical photos to add to the Global Press Archive, leveraging access to the nearby Library of Congress

• Work with the Researcher to answer questions from reporters and editors by compiling research into accurate, footnoted documents

• Compile well-sourced data on key subject areas of Global Press coverage

• Collaborate with team members to develop ideas for investigations that leverage our partnership with NASA

The other important stuff:

The Research Intern must be available to work 30 hours per week during the 12-week internship period between September and December. (Exactly internship time frame can vary depending on intern’s schedule.)

This internship requires a highly detail-oriented individual. You must have a strong research background with exceptional written and oral communication skills. Candidates should be comfortable with AP Style and have a keen interest to learn Global Press Style and values. It’s important that you are comfortable working across cultures and can embrace our unique definition of news value.
