Christian EscobarMora

Christian is an independent photojournalist based in Colombia, where he began working as a freelance photographer over two decades ago. He has taught photojournalism and photography for 16 years at various Colombian universities and has presented at many national and international journalism conferences.

He began his career at the daily newspaper El Espectador and a Colombian magazine, Cromos Shock. Christian’s photojournalism has since been profiled in news coverage, reports and documentaries around the world. He has also worked for international news agencies such as Associated Press, European Press Agency, Agencia EFE, Agence France Press, and Reuters. Christian’s work has been published on five continents, in over 150 countries and in several languages. His work has also been featured in National Geographic, The New York Times, Le Monde, The Guardian, El Pais, El Mundo and El Nuevo Dia.

In 2016, with decades of extensive photojournalism experience, Christian co-founded the International Photojournalism Agency, Mira-V.

He is a graduate in Graphic Design from the National University of Colombia and the recipient of several photojournalism awards, including a 2006 National Geographic Award in the category of News.

Christian currently lives in Cali, Colombia.
