Guiding Forces
Values-driven journalism.
All Global Press journalism and business operations strictly adhere to the organization’s four core values: dignity, diversity, transparency and excellence.
Our core values allow us to prioritize accuracy over speed and human dignity over click-bait headlines. From our industry-leading Duty of Care program that provides for the security of every journalist in our network to our world-class transparency practices in both business and editorial operations, our values serve our staff and readers alike.
Core Values
Dignity
We provide dignified employment opportunities that result in the production of dignity-driven journalism.
Diversity
We accurately represent the diversity of our world in our hiring practices and our news coverage.
Transparency
Our editorial processes, financial reports and other key decision-making materials are available to the public.
Excellence
Global Press strives for 100 percent accuracy in every story and works to produce ethical, exceptional journalism daily.
Dignity
Exceptional journalism requires humanity.
Global Press values the dignity of all people. We create dignified employment opportunities that result in the production of dignity-driven journalism. Our journalists challenge stereotypical victim-based narratives of poverty and disaster by giving voice to non-elite sources and new perspectives.

Global Press Style Guide
The Global Press Style Guide is a living document that establishes rules for referring to the people and places around the world where Global Press Journal reporters work. Each entry was crafted with the assistance of Global Press Journal reporters and editors, who live and work in the communities they cover.
Each entry was written with the specific intention of promoting dignity and precision in the practice of international journalism.

Duty of Care
Global Press prioritizes the physical, emotional, digital and legal safety of every reporter in our network. For media organizations that employ foreign correspondents, security protocols are often limited to extraction. But because Global Press reporters live in the communities that they cover, extraction is not an option.
We have designed an industry-leading duty of care strategy that mitigates risk and makes exceptional journalism possible.

Commitment to Accuracy
Global Press Journal aims for 100 percent accuracy in every story. We rely on readers around the world to highlight any inaccuracies they might find, in local language or in English. To report a correction, email
[email protected] Every editor on our staff receives these emails. An editor will respond to your correction request within 48 hours. All corrections are noted at the bottom of the article and compiled in a corrections archive.
Diversity
Covering global communities requires diversity.
At Global Press we work to accurately represent the diversity of our world in our hiring practices and our news coverage. We prioritize both physical and cognitive diversity in our diverse global team. Global Press benefits from the creativity, innovation and journalistic balance that occurs when people who have different access, experiences and perspectives work together.

Excellence
Global journalism requires rigor.
Global Press aims to be the news organization of record from the world’s least-covered markets. To make that happen, we are investing in the training and professional development of every employee. Our editorial process is defined by a non-assignment policy, which allows local reporters to pitch and report stories most relevant in their communities and by a heavy investment in accuracy protocols and professionals. Every Global Press story goes through a multi-tiered accuracy process that includes fact checking, copy editing, translation and editorial production.
